Be Soft

Again this week our world has been filled with such hatred and darkness. I struggle to find words, I struggle to find light. I am angry, I am heartbroken, I am lost. I see so much evil and it's becoming exceedingly difficult to see what is good.

But there is good. There has to be. For absolute evil to exist, there must be absolute love. Nature was created to balance itself out.

On Saturday, my sister found out her friend had passed away at the age of 25. She was saddened, horrified, and broken. But as she held her six month old daughter, you could see her begin to find the strength to comfort others and to begin her healing process. There is new life even while there is death. There is beauty where there was once pain.

Our country is broken. Our world is broken. All we can do is strive to be the absolute best versions of ourselves and love others fully, unconditionally, completely.

Kurt Vonnegut says it better than I ever could:

"Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place."

Go find the beauty.

Until next time,
